Emotional Music

Emo is a genre of music that originated from hardcore punk and later adopted pop punk influences when it became mainstream in the United States.
The genre of EMO, or Emotional, music has been around for longer then many people seem to believe. Originating in Washington, D.C in the early 80’s, Emo music is now listened to and played by millions of sensitive teens all over the world. The typical Emo fan may be described as a boy who wears tight jeans, dyed black hair, and black fingernail polish, but this is not what Emo is all about. Emo is about the music, and the music only. Emotional music is extremely lyrically centered. The song lyrics are often overflowing with anger, happiness, and sadness, but almost every song is about the sensation of love.

Rap/Hip Hop and classical music are two very different types of music. The difference is very noticeable in sound, and the music’s characteristics. The listeners and audience of the two types of music are very different as well. Classical music and rap music are also both viewed very differently in society. Producers and composers of these two styles of music present themselves differently also. Rap artists write their own lyrics. Because of this most rap songs are unapologetic, direct, and often very personal. Most rap music’s instruments are electronic, and computer generated.

Classical music is most often played before bed, or anytime during the day for relaxation purposes. Classical music also has a less complicated texture and is more homophonic. programmed rhythm and syncopated chant; such as beats and rhymes—drum and voice. This type of music is also often misunderstood because of the difficult-to-decipher phrases, and the slang used. When classical is mostly just instrument playing, the very talented composers, like rap artists, write their own music, and lyrics. Harmony and melody are often excluded from Rap/Hip Hop songs. The audience may use classical music as a prop to relaxation.
